Please wear gloves as we will paint over graffiti, pick up garbage and do groundskeeping such as clearing leaves from inside Tunnel and at exits/entrances, as well as removing tree limbs, if any, on sidewalks and/or adjacent roads. Lair Hill Beautification and SPNA supply all relevant tools and paining supplies. Extra cutting tools and push brooms and rakes are always appreciated. We expect volunteer participation from nearly Cedarwood Waldorf School and a wide range of volunteers from Lair Hill and South Waterfront and perhaps Johns’ Landing. All are welcome! It is also possible that additional work on Native Plant Project just past west entrance/exit of Grover Tunnel may be necessary. If enough volunteers, we will extend clean up efforts north of Grover Pedestrian Tunnel and to Darlene Hooley Pedestrian Bridge (we already had City inspect Elevator to insure no breakdowns and we removed graffiti and garbage in Elevator interior). Finally, we need more volunteers as November clean up only had 4 volunteers, possibly secondary to heavy rain fall. The sponsors are Lair Hill Beautification and SPNA with various assistance from City/State entities such as Planning and Sustainability, Graffiti Abatement,
PBOT and ODOT (and even one local resident and City Councilor, Olivia Clark!)."
